For plumbing & HVAC pros · Pro-only since 1999
Why WH2O Instead of a Big Box Store?
You can buy a water heater almost anywhere. What you can’t get everywhere is a pro-only supply partner: account pricing, local people who know water heaters, stock on the shelf, delivery right to the spot, and warranty claims handled for you.
A morning with the WHO Crew
How a no-hot-water call should go
7:40 a.m.
No hot water. The customer’s waiting. Your day just got rearranged.
Every pro knows this call. Here’s how it plays out when your supplier is built for the trade.
You call (763) 557-1117.
A real person on our team picks up. Not a phone tree, not a chatbot: someone who works with water heaters every day and can talk through sizing and venting with you.
It’s on the shelf.
We keep the residential sizes and fittings pros reach for most in stock, so a no-hot-water call doesn’t wait on a special order.
Will-call or delivery. Your call.
Grab it at our Golden Valley or Eden Prairie counter. Or we deliver to the job site, bring the new heater right down to where it’s going, and haul the old one away.
The old one was under warranty?
We handle and process the manufacturer warranty claim and get the replacement moving. You keep installing instead of sitting on hold.
Hot water’s back on.
Your customer remembers who showed up and fixed it: you. That’s the whole idea.
Water Heaters Only is a woman-owned Minnesota business that started out serving residential and commercial plumbing professionals, and pros are still the only customers we serve. Our team has spent decades working alongside plumbers, heating contractors and engineers.
What you actually get

Keep the pro channel strong
Big box stores sell to your customers. We don’t.
Myth
“A water heater is a water heater, wherever you buy it.”
Fact
Where you buy counts. Manufacturers watch which channel their water heaters sell through, and that shapes where they put product, programs and support. A contractor purchase at a retail home center counts toward the same channel that sells to DIY homeowners and markets installation to your customers.
WH2O is pro-only. We sell to the trade, not to homeowners. When a homeowner calls us, we point them to Find a Pro and the licensed contractors listed there. Every water heater you buy from us stays in the professional channel, the one that stocks pro-grade product, trains installers, handles warranty claims and sends homeowners to you. None of this is a knock on anyone: big box stores serve DIY shoppers well. Pros are simply best served by a supplier built only for pros.
Every water heater you buy is a vote for the supply channel you want around in ten years.
The brands we carry are built for the pro channel
The GE water heater and HVAC lines we carry are built for and sold through the professional channel.
“Unlike traditional kitchen and laundry appliances, HVAC products are sold and supported through distributors, plumbing companies, and HVAC contractors.”
GE Appliances, HVAC technical service and support. Its Air & Water Solutions division, which includes water heaters, says it is “dedicated to serving the unique needs of the plumbing, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning industry.”
“American Standard Water Heaters products are sold to professional plumbing contractors and commercial installers through our growing nationwide network of wholesale distributors.”
American Standard Water Heaters, “Why Choose Us”
“…this full range of water heaters available only for the trade…” and “designed specifically for wholesalers and plumbing professionals.”

Myth
“The warranty covers it no matter who installs it.”
Fact
The brands we carry tie warranty coverage to a proper install, and point homeowners back to a qualified pro.
“Rheem strongly recommends that this tankless water heater be installed by a contractor that is licensed, state qualified and trained… because improper installation may invalidate warranty coverage.”
Rheem tankless gas limited warranty
“Problems with installation of an appliance and issues of damage caused by the installer are not covered under the original warranty.”
GE Appliances, installation and warranty concerns
“If you are a homeowner in search of service for your HVAC product, please contact your local installer, plumber, or HVAC service provider first.”

Contractor FAQ
Does WH2O sell to homeowners?
No. WH2O is pro-only: we sell to the trade, not to homeowners. Homeowners who contact us are pointed to licensed local contractors through our Find a Pro directory.
Is WH2O price-competitive with big box stores?
Yes. Our pricing is built to compete on the water heaters and parts contractors install most, and contractor account customers can see their account pricing when they sign in to our online store. For a specific job, call us at (763) 557-1117 for a quote.
How do I open a contractor account?
Request a credit application by emailing orders@wh2only.com (subject: “Credit application request”) or by calling (763) 557-1117. Return the completed application by email or drop it off at our Golden Valley or Eden Prairie counter.
Does WH2O deliver to job sites?
Yes. We deliver to the job site, bring the new heater right down to where it’s going, and haul the old one away.
Can WH2O handle my water heater warranty claims?
Yes. We handle and process manufacturer warranty claims for our contractor customers and get the replacement moving, so you are not chasing paperwork while your customer waits. Have the model number, serial number, and a description of the failure ready.
Who answers when I call WH2O?
Our own team at our Golden Valley and Eden Prairie locations, not a call center or an AI assistant. They work with water heaters every day and can help with sizing, venting questions, and troubleshooting.

The WHO Crew
More than a box and a receipt.
How can Water Heaters Only and the WHO Crew work for you and your business?
Others hand you a box and a receipt. We’d rather know how you work. Tell us about your business: the kinds of jobs you do, how you like to order, what you need on delivery, and what slows you down. The WHO Crew will set up your account to fit, so working with us feels like part of your shop, not one more stop on the way to the job.
The jobs you do
Service calls, replacements, new construction, commercial work.
How you like to order
Phone, email or online, and who on your crew places orders.
Your delivery needs
Job sites, will-call, or a mix of both.
What slows you down
Tell us what gets in the way. That’s where we start.
